The Power of Words

Updated: 2 days ago
There is something powerful about the words we speak, the words we receive, and the words we allow to take root in our hearts.
Words can build. Words can bless. Words can encourage. Words can heal. But if we are honest, words can also wound, discourage, and cause us to shrink back from becoming all God created us to be.
That is why we must be intentional about the “words” we carry.
Every word spoken over us does not deserve residence in our spirit. Every opinion does not need to become our identity. Every criticism does not have to become our conclusion. Sometimes we have to pause and ask ourselves: Is this word shaping me in truth, or is it causing me to live beneath who God says I am?
As women, we carry so much. We carry responsibilities, relationships, dreams, disappointments, assignments, and expectations. But in the middle of all we carry, we must also pay attention to the language we are using with ourselves and with one another.
A gentle word can help a sister breathe again. A wise word can help her take the next step. A healing word can remind her that she still matters. A faith-filled word can help her remember that God is not finished with her story.
This is the heart of Words That Shape Lives. It is a reminder that our words are not just sounds; they are seeds. And when planted with love, grace, wisdom, and truth, they can produce strength, courage, hope, and transformation.
So let us choose our words with care. Let us speak life over ourselves, over our sisters, over our families, over our communities, and over the spaces God has trusted us to influence.
Because the right words, spoken in the right spirit, can help shape a life toward healing, purpose, and wholeness.
