
Lynn Marie Bethea
Lynn Marie Bethea is the oldest of five children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Garry Kitchen Sr. of West Philadelphia. On April 14, 2001, she married the love of her life, Rashid Ali Bethea. They have been happily married and in love for 25 years. They are the proud parents of two sons, RaSean and Rashad. They are the proud grandparents of one granddaughter, Scarlett, and one grandson, Rasean Jr.
After graduating from Overbrook High School in 1997, Reverend Bethea earned a Bachelor of Science in Bible from Lancaster Bible College at the Center for Urban Theological Studies (CUTS). Lynn is currently pursuing her Master of Divinity Degree (M.Div.) at the Palmer Theological Seminary.
Reverend Bethea was born and raised in the Bible Way Baptist Church in West Philadelphia, and she accepted Christ as Savior and Lord at age 20. Directed by the Holy Spirit, Reverend Bethea responded to the call of the Gospel Ministry at the age of 31. On March 25, 2015, Reverend Bethea was licensed to preach the Gospel by her beloved father in the ministry, Dr. Damone B: Jones Sr., Senior Pastor of the Bible Way Baptist Church. Reverend Bethea was ordained as an Associate Pastor of Bible Way Baptist Church on October 28, 2018. Reverend Bethea previously served full-time as Pastor of Administration at Bible Way Baptist Church. She is also the Chief Operating Officer of Woppy and Sons Cleaning/Sanitization Services, LLC, which her husband and two sons own.
At Bible Way, Reverend Bethea currently serves as the Pastor of Ministries, Chair of Finance Ministry, and Pastor of Christian Education. She teaches Bible Study and serves as a lead Discipleship Teacher for the Bible Way Women’s Ministry under the leadership of First Lady Dr. Melissa Jones. In 2018, Reverend Bethea developed T.D.I. (Teacher Development Institute) that is designed to educate, edify, and empower individuals who feel led to teach the Word of God.
In 2020, Reverend Bethea launched a training program for Associate Pastors/Ministers/Ministers in Training titled ‘The Seat’. The training program is designed to develop Associate Ministers to support the Senior Pastor effectively and efficiently as they lead God’s People.
